As an artist, illustrator & educator, Tan Haur enjoys working through cross-disciplinary collaboration and social engagement art to obtain unique artistic lingo. He utilizes art technologies, mixed media, and genres to achieve interesting tonal spectrum and to reveal an unfolding story within the work itself.
Tan is a practitioner in creative art therapy certified by the Social Service Institute (Singapore), he specializes in “Creative Therapy for Working with Persons with Special Needs: Art Therapy.” As a visual art educator, he provides consultancy and customizes training curriculum in the area of nurturing creative thinking processes and effective communications through mixed media and digital art.
Tan Haur graduated from the Australian National University (MA) in 2007 and has since worked with various social groups and organizations on regional collaborative art and community projects. Recently he had been interviewed by the Visual Collaborative (a U.S. based festival and publishing platform who receives acclaim internationally) to share his belief and practice in art, design, and life.
